  Robert Patterson is my direct line ancestor and is the first Patterson to settle the Saco area in 1719. According to "Saco Valley Settlements" by Gideon Ridlon, he was the ferry operator before the bridges were built and one of the 13 charter members of the first church of Saco. His grave and stone are in this cemetery. I have visited many ancient burying grounds over the last 50 years, and the condition of this one needs significant improvement. According to a 2012 article in the Journal Tribune, there is an estimated 260 bodies of the oldest original settlers in the Saco Valley in this cemetery. These brave settlers should be honored.
